Vice Lord-Lieutenant
The Vice Lord-Lieutenant is Mr Graham Peters DL. His appointment was announced in the London Gazette in June 2023.
As Vice Lord-Lieutenant, he supports the Lord-Lieutenant and attends many community and civic functions on his behalf.
Personal profile
Graham is married to Sarah, a retired nurse, and they have two children and one grandchild. Graham and Sarah have lived in Bodiam since 1992.
He was High Sheriff of East Sussex from 2013 to 2014 and was appointed a Deputy Lieutenant in 2011.
In his private life, Graham runs a property company with interests in London and Sussex.
Graham has a long-term interest in rural and economic regeneration, and was Chairman of Team East Sussex and Vice Chairman of The South East Local Enterprise Partnership (SELEP).
He has other voluntary regeneration roles, including chair of the Newhaven Enterprise Zone and co-chair of the Hastings Town Fund Board.
As well as having roles in his village of Bodiam, he is a:
- director of Woodland Enterprises, Flimwell
- governor of Frewen College
- trustee of Sussex Heritage Trust
For entertainment he swims, sings, welds stainless steel and enjoys wine and food.
